The First Night Out

A safe journey and then we had the full house — all the grandparents and Wolfson-Yamamoto grandchildren together. We all enjoyed a great dinner together at our favourite haunt Herr Rossi. While they say with new children 1 + 1 does not equal 2, we managed to pull this one off just fine.

The First Dinner

Kai Too

While Teo is big news, his older brother is dazzling all of us as well. We’ve been hitting the streets a lot to give mom some space, and it’s been a lot of fun hanging out in Berlin, trying new dining options, and exploring new parks. Even at home, we are settling back down into routine of bath, books, and bed. Yesterday Kai was so exhausted he was asleep before 10pm for the first time in a week. Hopefully the trend continues!

Teo Week 1

Everyone is now home (which unfortunately includes Megumi who went back to Japan) and we are starting to try to build a normal routine with our two boys. It’s tough work, and doesn’t leave lots of room for non-family activities, but we did enjoy nice dinners together Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. In addition spring has come and hopefully we will all be out strolling the streets of Prenzlauerberg soon.

Settling In With Teo

We ended up bringing Teo home a day early due to so many new incoming deliveries (it’s true about this Prenzlauerberg baby boom). Happily, Teo was in perfect health and got the full green light to become our ward. We decided to keep the first meeting with Kai until Sunday morning to have everyone at their best disposition. And so far, the two brothers seem to be getting along well — even when they are not sleeping 🙂 Could Chika have asked for a better birthday present (I don’t think so)?

Teo Day 1

They say the second child is easier, but Teo lived up to his “Gift of God” naming. He was so kind to mama — the delivery was so fast, we were all in awe. And for the first day he slept or nuzzled against Chika. Barely a peep. He still has the intensity of his older brother Kai, but somehow a bit more relaxed. At least that is papa’s wishful thinking. Like with Kai, we were so lucky to have Yukie and Meg with us to be part of the amazing event, and helping to manage all the things.
