Morning Peek
Adventurland
We were off for a bike ride with the kids into Treptow Park and took an interesting detour to the Spreepark Berlin, an old amusement park from the DDR days. A classic bit of history for sure.

New Zoo Adventure
Kai didn’t take a nap again Sunday (a scary trend), so instead of just heading to the playground we jumped on the bike and cruised across town to the zoo. In the past, I wouldn’t go solo to the zoo with Kai. Too far to travel without a stroller, and too difficult control both an energized Kai and a stroller at the same time. But in principle, the bike could work. And it did (although Kai did decide opening my backpack on the way home and threw out my German coursebook twice — unfortunately, I only caught him the first time.) The thanks you get as a parent, even after a chocolate ice cream cone.
Kai’s 1st Solo Bike
Another perfect day in Berlin, so took the initiative and headed out to the old Templehof Airport (now a park) so Kai could try out his wheels. It was good for a first day, but this seems like something that is repetition driven so will spend some practice time closer to home (it didn’t help that our bag got stolen while we were out cruising).
